D.A.R.E. is a class that teaches you about drugs and what they can do to harm you. D.A.R.E. stands for Define, Assess, Respond, and Evaluate. It also stands for Drug, Abuse, Resistance, and Education. So this Essay is going to be about what I learned in D.A.R.E. this year and how I think that it is going to help me in the future.

There are many things that I learned in D.A.R.E. this year. I learned about what different kinds of drugs can do to you if you use them. I learned what smoking can do to you. It is also the number one cause of lung cancer. It can also give you yellow teeth and bad breath. Learning about this had an impact on me because now I know what it can do to you and I know that I do not ever want to smoke in my life.

I also learned about marijuana. I learned that it can be very addictive and that it affects the brain and the body. It also causes short term memory loss and the inability to concentrate. I also learned that marijuana has a lot of tar in it. I know that it has a lot of tar in it because we saw a jar of tar and it looked really bad and i did not want my lungs to look like that. Learning about this has had an impact on me because now I know that I never want to do marijuana because it is bad for you.

I think that D.A.R.E. is going to be very helpful to kids in the future about making good decisions about doing drugs. Smoking and marijuana are some of the main things that we learned about in D.A.R.E.. We also learned about ways to stay out of risky situations and different ways to say no. We also learned about the five kinds of peer pressure. We even learned about alcohol and tobacco. Another thing that we learned about was making healthy decisions.

I think that D.A.R.E. is going to help me because I think after learning about drugs and what they can do to you I will make better decisions in the future. My pledge is to never do drugs like alcohol, tobacco or anything of the sort. I promise to make wise decisions in the future.

Today our teacher Mr. McGuire asked us  to comment on his blog about integrity. This post is going to tell you what I had to say about integrity in my comment.

I think that integrity does matter to a 6th grader and it should matter. I think this because integrity is important in everybody’s life. For example if you could not find out the answer on a test would you cheat? If you would then you do not have any integrity. If you do not cheat and you figure it out yourself then you do have integrity.

Another question was how does Kevin’s integrity compare to yours. Kevin is a character in the book “Freak The Mighty”. Our class just got done reading this book in read aloud. I think that Kevin’s is a lot like mine like don’t cheat and always try your best.

Today our teacher asked us to write a comment about Controlling our own destiny and this is what I had to say about my destiny.

I think that I control most of my destiny but I do not control all of it. I think that as I get older I will be able to control more and more of my destiny.I think I control my destiny because I am becoming more responsible. I know that eventually I will have full control of my destiny.

The things that I am doing to steer my life towards success is getting good grades and making good decisions. This will hopefully lead to good things in life like going to collage and getting my degree.

Comment and let me know what you think about your own destiny. Do you control your destiny?

I think that my potential is a 75-80. I know that I can do better than I am. I just have to try a little harder. There is just a few things that I need to work on to reach my full potential.

In the video I was really inspired to try my best. When the coach was telling Brock not to give up, It made me think about how much you can achieve. I have decided that when we take the OAT test that I am not going to give up, I am going to do my best and try to reach my potential.

Can you reach your full potential? Comment and let me know what you think about your potential.

The book that I am reading is called The Big Field. I am going to tell you a little bit about the book. I think that you really like this book after I tell you a little information.

In this book the main characters name is Kieth Hutchinson. His friends call him Hutch. His best friend is Cody. Cody and Hutch play on the same Baseball team with each other. They are always hanging out at each others house. Hutch plays 2nd base and Cody plays right field.

Hutch used to play shortstop but that position was stolen by Darryl Willams. Hutch really liked playing shortstop. Darryl is not a team player like Hutch. Hutch decides that he wants to try and earn his spot back. He makes a lot of big plays in the field and a lot of plays at the plate too. I am really wondering if Hutch will get his spot back but I have not read that far yet. Hutch is the team captain and he is always the one to calm down the team when they are frustrated.

I really think that you will like this book. You will like it even more if you like action books. I really am enjoying this book and I hope that you read it because you will enjoy it too. If you do like this book there is many more books by this author, his name is Mike Lupica.

There is a girl in my class named Katie. One day I saw that there was a kindergardener that was having a hard time hanging up her coat.Katie got up from the lunch table and helped the little girl hang up her stuff. That is what I call responsibility.

The book that I am reading is called Cover-Up by John Feinstein. This book is very interesting I am going to tell you what makes me want to read my book even more.

One thing that makes me want to read this book even more is that there is a lot of action in this book. These two kids are sports reporters and they are at the Super Bowl. they have to prove that the offensive line for the California Dreams is not aloud to play. There is many interesting things that happen in this book like when Susan Carol gets in an argument. Susan and her friend Stevie have to do many things to prove  that the line can not play.

Another thing that makes me want to read this book more is that there is a lot of surprises in this book like when Susan and Stevie go and talk to a person that can help them bust the team owner. Then the person says no he will not help them. that is when Susan gets in the argument.

I really like this book and i hope you decide to read this book too. If you read this book I am sure that you will like it as much as I did.

This post is going to be about a pharaoh. His name was Menes. It is also going to be about what he did when he was the pharaoh of Ancient Egypt.

Menes was the first pharaoh of the 1st Dynasty in Egypt. He ruled some time between 3100-2850 B.C during the Protodynastic era of Egypt’s history. Menes also established the famous capital of Memphis.

He also unified Upper and Lower Egypt. That is called unification. When he unified Upper and Lower Egypt his army overthrew Lower Egypt. One group lived around the mouth of Nile River, near the Mediterranean Sea. Their king wore a Red Crown. Their land was called Lower Egypt. The other group lived near the mountains to the South. Their king wore a White Crown. Their land was called Upper Egypt. These two groups continued to fight. King Menes created the Double Crown, a mix of white and red..

Menes was also known as Hor-Aha meaning “Horus of the Reeds” the Hawk King. The names of his father and mother are unknown but his ancestors are believed to be the “Horus-people” or the “Hawk-people” of the Predynastic Period. His chief wife and consort was Princess Neihotpe.

This information came from.

The book that I am reading is called On The Court With Michael Jordan. I am going to tell you about the plot of my book. The plot is the main idea of a book.

The plot or main idea of my book is about Michael Jordan’s life time. During his life time he played basketball at North Carolina and he played for the Chicago Bulls. This book also talks about how  he was one of the best Basketball players ever. It is also about how Michael had a rough life going through some difficult times. Michael also decides to play baseball at one time in his life. He was not as good at baseball as he was at basketball.

Michael Jordan won 6 NBA championships. That is one example of why he was one of the best basketball players ever. Another example is he averaged over 30 points per game throughout most of his career.

That is the Plot of the book that I am reading. Iwould recommend this book to you if you liked basketball books or biographys.
